Strangers from Birth describe themselves as futuristic space music and, to be fair, that description isn’t too far off. Sounding like the soundtracks of Drive and Stranger Things had a lovechild with Girgio Moroder and Aphex Twin. The Brighton duo, consisting of Mass Roman and Ossian Ritchie, have recently re-emerged after a 4-year hiatus.
They released their first album There is No Return back in July which features six tracks of synth pop guaranteed to get any dancefloor packed. Album closer Future Money is a stand out, it’s a carnival of synths that sounds like its travelled millions of lightyears to reach your ears. Each of their tracks features heavily auto tuned vocals on every track Strangers from Birth sound more robotic than human but that’s probably what the band want you to think.
The band are playing at The Green Door Store in Brighton on Tuesday 25th October so make sure you're there!
