Images can evoke many emotions, and lo and behold so can music. Combining the two together and bam! you could be an emotional wreck. Music can fit into a scene and set the mood in a instant, I want to explore the types of images that can bring a certain song to mind and set that perfect ratio of image to music emotion.
La femme d’argent — Air
Futuristic. Down to editing the two tones of blue and red give the image a new ‘ahead of time’ look, and Air’s song ‘La femme d’argent’ fits in perfectly, buzzing buttons and unknown sounds throughout, like speeding on a spaceship. Electronic tunes with some jazz undertones creating the perfect futuristic relaxed balance.
Lost My Mind - Froth
Lost My Mind by Froth is the perfect song to describe disorientation with a happy note. The music I imagine being played in a forest whilst the trees are spinning. I associate forests with a loss of thought, as its quiet and peaceful and a perfect place to bury your thoughts in the trees to lose your mind, but at the same time keep some sort of serenity as the sun comes through the gaps in the trees and warms your skin, makes you blind with happiness.
They Dated Steadily - Mink Mussel Creek As Halloween is close approaching, darkness is creeping in. The moon. Perhaps a foreign object, with so much to give and so much yet to know. The unknown not being a happy term. They Dated Steadily by Mink Mussel Creek, is seeping with darkness, slimy, grunge , evil laughter and perfect for that werewolf howling at the moon. The vocals echoing at 1.40 giving the chills for the perfect song, of dark ethics and spine tingling raw grunge.
No Easy Way Down - Dusty Springfield
Now its time for a bit of sappy reflection. When the lover has left you standing alone on the sandy beach as a single tear rolls down your cheek and the sun starts to set. No Easy Way Down by Dusty Springfield sums this up to a T. Springfield gives you some hope in the distress that no, life isn't easy so look over that beautiful sunset and reflect because everything will be okay again, and the sun will be just as beautiful the next evening (perhaps).
Wake Up Alone - Original Recording - Amy Whinehouse
The scene of isolation and peace, pink and purple hues giving a magical content feel, as the waves are slowly rolling in. Wake Up Alone is a song of isolation, being alone and restless as the day comes to a slow end, moving at an average and sloppy pace like a boat on the evening tides. Sit back and relax let the tides carry you away in your dream state to the sweet sounds of Amy Whinehouse.
