Over the week we will be taking a look at Brighton's Gritty DIY Music Scene through the lens of music photographer, Jamie Macmillan. Each day we will be looking at different artists and their experiences with an impressive mixture of photo and interview.
“The least glamorous part of the DIY music scene? When I am getting prepped for a gig, I need silence to make sure the harp is properly tuned. That sometimes means I have to tune it in the toilets…”
“Transporting a harp isn’t easy…it normally goes in the back of my van, but when that in for repair…”
GOLDING - words by Kipp
“A lot of Brighton bands and artists think they’re the bollocks…but you kind of have to
believe you can do it if you’re really going to go for it. The bottom line is everyone is trying to create
a demand for themselves, and when you start out there just isn’t one. You need to put infinite
amounts of your time and energy into it just to get a couple of gigs.”
