Bonjour Monsieur, Black Honey have stormed onto the scene in the last year. After impressing at last years Great Escape Festival and now having released a string of tremendous EPs, Black Honey rounded of their latest tour of the UK with a triumphant sold out headline show at Brighton's infamous Concorde 2. For a band without an album they have a surprising number of standout tracks, their live set doesn't feel like it's missing anything. It is full of crowd pleasers and classics with tracks such as Spinning Wheel,All My Pride, Hello Today and Corrine. The entire crowd were behind the band from the get go, with mosh-pits, sing-a-longs and plenty of dancing. It was clear to see that Black Honey are here to stay and have amassed a well earned following. Support on the night came from Chelmsford's FREAK who is an equally exciting artist, whose interview with Smashed Vinyl you can read here.
Their latest release, Somebody Better, is no exception. It has the same mix of ferocious melody and L.A. dreaming that gives Black Honey their defining sound. The 7" is out on orange vinyl next week, it follows the release of heart-shaped picture disc vinyl for their last single, Hello Today, the sexy indie number that's helped boost Black Honey's image as one of the hottest (and coolest) bands around right now. Don't just take our word for it though, check out Hello Today below and the rest of their stuff on Spotify here.
